Tom Yum Goong

INGREDIENTS : feeds 3 People.

2.5 Cups water

15gr Sliced red onion

250gr Mushrooms cut in half

1 stem lemongrass cut in to 2-3 pieces

5 Thai kaffir lime leaves

3 Teaspoons roast chilli paste

3-4 Slice galangal

9 Clean and deveined Prawns

1  lime or lemon juice

1 Stem cut spring onions

1 Stem cut coriander

3-5 Red chillies

1  Knorr Tom Yum cube [or any stock cube]

3 Wedges of tomato

1/2 Can of coconut milk or any milk alternate

Fish sauce for taste


Put water onto boil and bring it to a high heat.

Add the lemon grass, galangal, red onion and 1/2 teaspoon salt.

And Tom Yum Knorr stock cube and mushrooms. Add when water is boiling.

After water has boiled add the 9 Prawns and let it boil for another 2-3 minutes.  Add the tomato wedges and chilli, let it boil for another few seconds then add the coconut milk,  lemon juice and fish sauce to your taste.

And then remove from the stove.

Ready to serve.

Spicy beef basil

INGREDIENTS : 2 people

200gr Minced beef

50gr Green beans

30gr Sliced white onions

2 Cloves of fresh Garlic, crushed

5-10 Chillies crushed or cut in half

30gr Fresh basil

1Tbs Oyster sauce

20ml Soy sauce

1Tbs Fish sauce

1Tbs Sugar

40ml Water

30ml Cooking oil


Put oil into the wok and place on stove, at a high heat.

Reduce temperature of oil to medium heat, add the crushed garlic and chilli, stir until golden colour.  Add the minced beef to the chilli mix, stir together well at a high heat. Add the water, oyster sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce and sugar,  stir well again before adding the green beans, white onions and basil.

Season well, remove from the wok and serve.

Thai Banana dessert in coconut milk.

INGREDIENTS:  Serves 4 people

4x Half ripe Thai bananas

1.5 Cups coconut milk

50gr Palm Sugar

1/2 Cup water

1/4 tsp Salt

1Tbs White sugar


Steam the half ripe Thai bananas for 20 minutes. Then remove from the stove and let the bananas cool. While the bananas are cooling put 1 cup coconut milk and 1/2 water in to pot,  bring to the boil, then add the palm sugar, white sugar and salt and let it simmer until sugar is dissolved.

Cut the Thai bananas (1 banana can cut in to 4 pieces total 16 pieces).

Then put all the banana into the coconut syrup and boil for 15 minutes. Then add 1/2 cup coconut milk and let it boil for few seconds and remove from stove and serve.
